Semi-Annual Members Meeting
August 5, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Members Meeting and Vigil for Hiroshima and Nagasaki
with special guest presenter LeRoy Moore speaking on the current state of Rocky Flats.
The line up for the day:
- At 11 am we’ll start with a 1 hour vigil with our bright, new signs in the Peace Garden (along Hwy 119 as you come into Nederland from the east) in remembrance of the 72nd anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
- At noon we will head over to The Art House on E. 2nd St. to gather for an outdoor pot luck and short recap of what the Mountain Forum for Peace has accomplished this year.
- At 1 pm LeRoy Moore will give a hour presentation on Rocky Flats, with particular attention to the Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge, which the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service plans to open up to the public. His presentation will focus on why this should not happen and what people in Nederland can do.
Please feel free to join us for any, or all of the activities on Aug. 5th!
